June 6. Our fundraising dinner at Jacky's Galaxie in Bristol was a big success.

Thanks to the generosity of our guests, besides the contribution of $8445.00 made by the restaurant in Bristol from the dinner admissions, we collected $3497.00 from the  live auction and received $6,000 donation. That’s $17942 for one night!

Committee Chairman Mr. Louis Yip and Dr. Qing Yang, a URI professor delivered short yet touching and inspiring speeches.  Attorney General of Rhode Island, Mr. Patrick Lynch, made presence at the dinner to show his support. A slide show dedicated to the children who died in the earthquake was played. It is made by our friend Shuang Wu in China. Later in that evening, the auctioneer played by Sandra Cheng put the audience in a much lighter mood with her wonderful performance. The items for auction were donated by local businesses and individuals.

 The restaurant prepared a hearty dinner for our guests. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. It was quite a task and we also received support from our volunteers again. The team of cook and wait staff includes Jacky Ko (the owner), Emily, Val, Meredith, Da Wa, Juses from the restaurant, Sammie Lu, Long Zhou & Wei Wei Tong from URI as well as Yiyue Yang, Wenxi Su, Sherry Lu & Johnson Zhang from Johnson & Wales University.

As Jacky said, we all do whatever we can to help with the situation. No matter it is time, money or anything else.

委员会主席叶超和义工代表杨庆教授作了简短，动人而鼓舞人心的发言。 检察长Patrick Lynch 到场表示支持。 会场放映了一个由我们在国内的朋友吴霜制作的献给地震中遇难孩子的幻灯片。晚些时候在现场拍卖中，胡少娟的出色口才让大家的心情得以放松。本地商家和个人捐献了用作拍卖的物品。

Jacky’s Galaxie 餐馆为筹款会精心制作了精致美味的晚餐。其工作量相当巨大。 我们的厨师和服务员包括了高振华(Jacky) 本人和经理  Emily及 Val等，以及义工来自Johnson & Wales 的杨宜岳，苏文曦，吕新元，张强盛同学和 URI的童蔚蔚，周隆与Sammie Lu.

正如 Jacky 所说， 我们各尽所能予以帮助， 不论是金钱，时间或其它。
