A Press Release about the committee was sent out to Rhode Island media this morning, to which local papers and radio stations responded promptly and positively. Our special thanks go to Dr. Robert Billington and Mr. Olon Reeder of Blackstone Valley Tourism Council for helping us to get the word out.

Professor Qing Yang of URI provided posters of various sizes to help with the fundraising; A group of elderly from the Chinese Christian Church volunteered long hours to make donation boxes that will be distributed to local restaurants.

We will need volunteers Wednesday afternoon (May 21) to help with mass mailing. Please contact us at: (401) 965 3666, (401) 965 3152 if you are available.

Ten Drum Performance Group from Taiwan will perform at the Swift Gym in East Greenwich at 6:00 pm tomorrow (May 21) in celebration of the Asian Heritage Month.(Tel 781-956-8181). We will set up a booth at the gym to collect donations.

There will be a committee meeting at RIACA office at 7:00pm this Thursday, May 22. Everyone is welcome. The address is 48 Blackstone Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02860.

URI 杨庆教授为筹款活动准备了许多大幅海报，今日已交予委员会统一分发。如果您需要请联系我们。有一群华人教会的老人家花费了整个下午和晚上制作捐款箱。谢谢大家的帮助。
